The Reverend Hoyte Wilhelm is the Elder pastor at Union Avenue UMC.

Hoyte was born in 1958 in Morgantown, WV. He is a graduate of Ada High School and received a B.S. in Business Administration from Valparaiso University. His advanced degrees include an M.A. from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Divinity from The Methodist Theological School in Ohio. He has worked in the area of career services at Wooster, Kenyon, and Albion colleges. Hoyte served as a Student Local Pastor at Nellie Chapel and New Castle UMCs from 1996-2000 and was a staff intern at Trinity UMC in Orrville from 1995-96. He was ordained as an Elder in 2003 and served as the Associate Pastor at Wooster UMC from 2000-2006. Among several others, his professional presentations and publications include "Modeling Spiritual Health in the Church," published in Net Results: New Ideas in Church Vitality, June 2001. He assisted with Congregational Partnerships, the Lilly Endowment Program at the College of Wooster. He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Music Fraternity and Phi Kappa Psi Social Fraternity. Hoyte enjoys freshwater fishing, hiking, biking, the OSU Buckeyes, reading, and playing trombone. He has taught Disciple Bible Study I and II, Companions in Christ, and recently finished a leadership training event in Stephen Ministry. He has also served as the Spiritual Director for the Heart of Ohio Chrysalis community.

Hoyte and his wife, Teresa (Terri) were married in 1987. Teresa has a B.A. degree in Music Education from Bowling Green State University and is active with the church. They have a daughter, Megan (19), a college student at Kenyon College, and Timothy (17), a student at Alliance High School.

Rev. Rebecca Innerst graduated from Ohio Northern University with a Bachelor's degree in English Education. She attended Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and graduated with an MA in Religious Studies in 2001. She was commissioned a probationary member of the East Ohio Annual Conference in 2001 and ordained a Deacon in full connection in 2004.

She serves the church as the Associate/Minister of Education working to help equip and empower the congregation to serve through the education ministry, youth ministry, discipleship ministry, small group ministry and mission ministry as we extend God's love into the world. As you seek a church home, Rev. Rebecca extends a "warm welcome" to new persons in the community and is available to meet with you and your family!

Rev. Rebecca and her husband, John, a Rite Aid pharmacist, have two married children and enjoy their grandchildren.
